Passenger Lobby

Upon Landing on Runway 16, your aircraft can proceed to the end of the runway and turn left into Skytrails Aviation’s large concrete transient ramp. Our friendly staff will be there to give you the top-notch red-carpet service that distinguishes Skytrails Aviation from other FBOs. We will have your rental car or limousine positioned right at the aircraft’s doorway. Our professional line service will handle your baggage with the utmost care and assist passengers to our beautiful terminal if needed. Skytrails is the closest FBO at the Van Nuys airport to the Westside and Downtown areas. We have easy access to the San Diego Freeway (just a mile away), and the 101-freeway is only 1 mile further south.

Flight Kitchen

Our 1930s design executive terminal is luxurious and beautiful. Inside we have specially made handcrafted sofas and seating arrangements with a rich brown and green motif. We also have several paintings commissioned just for Skytrails Aviation.

Behind the lobby’s counter is Skytrails Aviation's friendly and courteous staff. They are there to assist you and your passengers and to help with your hotel, restaurant, and travel arrangements.

Conference Room

Our Conference Room is one of the finest on the airport. With 12 seats and a large sandblasted glass oval table, the room was designed to be fit for a Fortune 500 company. Included in the conference room is a refrigerator with drinks.

Our Flight Kitchen was designed for the flight crew’s comfort and functionality. Included are a 52" Traulsen refrigerator, Kitchen Aid sanitizing dishwasher, microwave, large center island, garbage disposal, ice machine, commercial coffee maker, and ample cabinet space.

Flight Planning Room

The Skytrails Flight Planning Room has a WSI weather system with printer, Low and HI altitude charts, a direct line to the Flight Service System and a dedicated modem line. The flight planning room also has a large desk for maps and flight planning.

The Pilot's Lounge has a TV with DISH satellite networks. Included in the pilot's lounge is a large assortment of aviation videos. The lounge has large comfortable, custom-built leather recliners for just relaxing or snoozing. Upstairs from the pilot lounge is a private shower for pilot usage.

Skytrails Aviation has just re-constructed a new concrete ramp to hold larger aircraft up to a business jet. The ramp is approximately 4 acres in size making it one of the largest on the airport for transient aircraft.

Skytrails North is home to over 150 piston aircraft on 10 acres of land located mid-field on the East side of the airport. At Skytrails North we have tie-downs, a 100LL Avgas Self Service Fuel Island and various sizes of rental hangars. Blue Skies Aviation operates flight schools at Skytrails North. Skytrails North is located at 7535 Valjean Avenue just North of Sherman Way Boulevard.
